Meet time change!

The CC meet at Manton (9-1-09) has had its start time moved back until 6pm on Tuesday night. Bus time from Manistee is now 3:45 pm - and I don't expect our team to get home until around 10 pm.

MHS Chips ran their first meet of the 2009 season on 8-29-09 at the Eldon Moss Invitational at Benzie Central. Racing against some of the top teams in the state in Division I, II, and III, both Chip teams finished in 13th place.

16. Kelly Schubert - 19:53 New PR (personal record), 3:43 faster than the same meet last year, fastest time by an MHS girl in over 12 years!

80. Erin Crothers - 25:20 Just missed a new PR, 3:20 faster than her first meet last year!
81. Allie Mallison - 26:00 27 seconds faster than her first meet last year!
85. Courtney Stefanski - 26:45 New PR!

42. Jarret Deisch - 18:05 New PR, fastest freshman time of the day for all 30 schools!
74. Brian Fisk - 20:17 New PR, improved over last year's first meet by 5:28!
79. Tyler Sievert - 21:43 Improved last year's first meet time by 2:39!
84. Jonny Bailey - 22:33 New PR - ran his last mile faster than his first!
88. Trinity DeRooy - 23:14 New PR!
89. Nathan Morang - 23:59 New PR!
90. Trent Schmeling - 25:06 Improved over last year's meet by 4:04!

So there was a lot of positive things that happened at this first meet, despite the teams' low finishes. Next meet is Tuesday Sept. 1st at Manton.

The Manistee Varsity CC season has started! Upcoming practice schedule:

Thur 8-20 8-9:30 am at Magoon Creek park (meet at the entrance - S. on Red Apple Road)
Fri 8-21 8-9:30 am MHS

Team Camp - Leave MHS at Sunday 8-23 at 4:00pm - Return to MHS Tues 8-25 approximately noon.

Sat 9-5 Brethren High Bridge Hustle 5K Road Race Meet at MHS at 7:40am if you want to carpool to the race. Costs $12 if you early register, $15 on race day.

Mon 9-7 Labor Day - we will not practice!

School starts Tuesday 9-8 Practice daily 3:30-5
